IMG_3700Dating and Domestic Abuse
Experienced advocates from Jersey Battered Women’s Service (JBWS) provide emotional support, safety planning, and access to community resources. Support groups in English and Spanish take place in the beautiful, bright new space.  Advocates can also provide access to the JBWS’ safe house and batterers’ counseling program.

Legal Assistance
IMG_3692Provided by attorneys from Legal Services of Northwest Jersey, Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs, and the Morris County Bar Foundation, legal assistance is offered with restraining orders, family matters, housing, immigration, and more.

Morris County Prosecutor’s Office investigates/prosecutes the offender and provides criminal prosecution status updates. Morristown Police Department assists with criminal investigations and filing for restraining orders.

Children will enjoy hanging out with volunteers in the fun, toy area or living room (with TV and computer) while their mothers meet with staff in the Center. The Center also provides individual & group support for child witnesses of domestic violence. Too often, these children are at risk of being physically harmed themselves and of suffering from emotional trauma and stress induced health problems.

Culturally Specific Services

IMG_3597Advocacy for South Asian survivors is provided through Manavi. Advocacy for Spanish speaking survivors is provided through most partner agencies directly and Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs.

Sexual Assault
Counseling, advocacy, respect, education and support for sexual assault survivors, their families and their partners are provided through Morris CARES.

Human Trafficking
Support services, advocacy, & safety planning are provided for survivors of human trafficking.
