Dating and Domestic Abuse
Experienced advocates from JBWS provide emotional support, safety planning, and access to community resources. Support groups in English and Spanish take place in the beautiful, bright new space. Advocates can also provide access to the JBWS safe house and the counseling program for people who use abuse.

Provided by attorneys from Legal Services of Northwest Jersey, Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs, and the Morris County Bar Foundation, legal assistance is offered with restraining orders, family matters, housing, immigration, and more.
Morris County Prosecutor’s Office investigates/prosecutes the offender and provides criminal prosecution status updates. Morris County Sheriff’s Department assists with legal matters such as restraining orders.

Children will enjoy hanging out with volunteers in the fun, toy area or living room (with TV and computer) while their parent meets with staff in the Center. The Center also provides supportive counseling for children and adolescents exposed to violence. In addition, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an evidence-based model, addresses trauma gradually and in a safe, controlled environment.

Culturally Specific Services
Advocacy for Spanish-speaking survivors is provided through onsite Bilingual staff and through most partner agencies directly, including Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs. Advocacy for South Asian survivors may be provided through our offsite partner, Manavi.
Counseling, advocacy, respect, education and support for sexual assault survivors, their families and their partners are provided through Morris CARES.
Support services, advocacy, & safety planning are provided for survivors of human trafficking.
